Gee whiz! Let the woman go already. So she let off some steam when her jerk husband betrayed her trust. Don't give the jerk more of a big head by jailing her.
This kind of stuff just erks me to no end. Why is it that society allows bad people to enforce their behavior is right in some way, and then not accept harm was done to another person by them? That other person has a right to be upset and express their feelings, as long as they don't cross the line of course.
But killing an avatar in a game for revenge is something this jerk should have expected, and understood was the consequences of his actions against what he did to his wife. This jerk actually expected her to just do nothing? His actions proves why he was never worth her love in the first place.
She had every right to do something, and since it appears he cared more about his game, than his marriage, then that was what she targeted. He was ignorant to not consider her feelings in the marriage, then not even change any password information in the game after betraying her so quickly and deeply.
Good for her!
The woman, who is jailed on suspicion of illegally accessing a computer and manipulating electronic data, used his identification and password to log onto popular interactive game "Maple Story" to carry out the virtual murder in mid-May, a police official in northern Sapporo said on condition of anonymity, citing department policy.
Basicially, the reason why this woman was arrested is basicially because she impersonated him online.
She had every right to do something, and since it appears he cared more about his game, than his marriage, then that was what she targeted.
Even at the risk of committing Idenity Theft? What if she targeted something else, something which has implications in the real world, i.e. finances?
There is a saying which I think should apply to cases like this: "let sleeping dogs lie".
